The new SLM MK II low-output Mono MC cartridge introduces key upgrades that enhance musical performance and provide outstanding value within the S Series. Featuring a newly designed tapered aluminium cantilever with increased rigidity, it significantly improves the transfer of groove modulation from vinyl to the cartridge generator. The S Series MK II utilises higher-grade components, advanced materials, and exclusive technical processes drawn from Hana’s premium cartridge range.

Critical components—including the yoke, pole pieces, and gold terminal pins—are cryogenically treated to produce a more natural sound. Inspired by the Hana M Series, the upgraded, non-resonant body shape is damped with a matte "Soft Feel" black elastomeric resin and incorporates a brass top cap with integrated threaded cartridge mounting. The heavier MK II cartridge offers improved coupling, enhancing bass response, dynamics, and compatibility with a broader range of tonearms. Adopting the design approach of the Umami Blue and M Series, the SLM MK II generator uses an Alnico magnet and cross-coil configuration with high-purity 30-micron copper wire at a 23Ω impedance, delivering high resolution and traceability for optimised performance with MM phono stages.
