The Quest Group began as the vision of William E. Low (Bill), whose lifelong passion for music and the arts shaped the future of high-performance audio cables. Bill’s fascination with music and audio equipment emerged during his teenage years, paving the way for a career of innovation and excellence.
While studying at Reed College in Portland, Oregon, in the early 1970s, Bill combined his love for audio with his entrepreneurial drive, selling music systems to fellow students. After graduation, he moved to California, where he honed his skills as a manufacturer’s representative in the Bay Area before founding a high-end audio salon in Santa Monica.
During this time, Bill identified a key issue in audio systems: the significant distortion introduced by signal-carrying cables. Driven by curiosity, he began experimenting with innovative cable construction techniques, discovering that even subtle design changes could dramatically enhance sound quality. This revelation started AudioQuest's enduring commitment to developing cables that redefine audio and video performance.
