BRICASTI DESIGN
Founded in 2004, Bricasti Design specialises in digital conversion and amplification components for studio and home use. The company’s name combines the first names of its founders, Brian Zolner and Casey Dowdell, who, along with their engineering team, brought extensive experience from prestigious companies such as Madrigal, Lexicon, and Mark Levinson. This expertise laid the foundation for the brand’s outstanding reputation in the world of high-fidelity audio.
M12 Source controller - Stereo D/A
Based in Shirley, Massachusetts, on the East Coast, Bricasti remains a small, dedicated team of six individuals. One of their most significant achievements is the M7 Reverb unit, which, despite being launched 18 years ago, remains the most well-known and popular reverb unit in the music industry. The M7’s lasting success is a testament to Bricasti’s cutting-edge approach and commitment to long-term performance and quality.
Bricasti’s consumer products allow Brian and his team to showcase their technical expertise, creating products that rival the most costly offerings in the industry but at a more attainable cost. Each design undergoes extensive planning, prototyping, and testing, with the final process of fine-tuning the product’s voice lasting up to a year. The result is exceptional audio reproduction that provides crystal-clear transparency and unvarnished access to the original recording.
M1S2 (Series II) Stereo D/A
Combining understated aesthetics with exceptional engineering, Bricasti’s consumer products are among the most advanced high-end audio electronics available today. Their expanded product line encompasses top-of-the-line digital-to-analogue converters, preamplifiers, and stereo and monoblock power amplifiers. Alongside their flagship M19 SACD/CD Reference Digital Transport, Bricasti has recently introduced the innovative M11 R-2R Ladder DAC Series.
Brian Zolner, CEO of Bricasti Design
Exceptional in terms of parts and manufacture, but at the same time simple and sonically "pure", we wanted a player that would have no need for additional processing such as up-sampling, no DAC, no digital inputs or USB - all of which complicate the digital design and add unwanted noise; this in a bid to keep as faithful to the original mastered media from source as possible.

The M11 R-2R Ladder DAC Series is the latest creation by Brian Zolner, CEO of Bricasti Design, and we were delighted to have the opportunity for him to join us in person and reveal some of the behind-the-scenes details of this technology.
