The new high-output SH MKII cartridge introduces upgrades that enhance musical performance and deliver greater value at the S Series price point. With added rigidity, its newly tapered aluminium cantilever significantly improves the groove modulation transfer from the vinyl record to the cartridge generator, yielding a substantial sonic improvement. The S Series MK II benefits from higher-grade components, advanced materials, and unique technical processes drawn from Hana’s elite cartridge models, furthering the renowned “brilliant and gorgeous” Hana sound.

Key components, including the yoke, pole pieces, and gold terminal pins, undergo cryogenic treatment to produce a more natural sound. Inspired by the Hana M Series, the improved, non-resonant body shape is damped with a matte "Soft Feel" black elastomeric resin and fitted with a brass top cap and integrated threaded cartridge mounting. The heavier MK II cartridge design enhances coupling, which improves bass and dynamics while expanding compatibility with a wider range of tonearms. Following the design principles of the Umami Blue and M Series cartridges, the SH MK II generator features an Alnico magnet and cross-coil configuration, utilising high-purity 30-micron copper wire with a 130Ω impedance. This setup enhances signal-to-noise ratio, reduces moving mass, and optimises performance for Moving Magnet phono stages.

The SH MK II also includes a two-year guarantee from the date of purchase and offers a ‘new-for-old or damaged’ replacement service.
