The new SL MK II features significant upgrades that enhance musical performance and offer exceptional value within the S Series price range. A newly tapered aluminium cantilever with increased rigidity improves the transfer of groove modulation from the vinyl record to the cartridge generator, resulting in a remarkable leap in sound quality. The S Series MK II incorporates higher-specified parts, advanced materials, and unique technical processes drawn from Hana’s elite, high-end cartridges, enhancing the signature "brilliant and gorgeous" Hana sound.

Several critical components—such as the yoke, pole-pieces, and gold terminal pins—are cryogenically treated for a more natural sound. Inspired by the Hana M Series, the improved, non-resonant body shape is damped with a matte "Soft Feel" black elastomeric resin. It features a brass top cap with integrated threaded cartridge mounting. The heavier Mk II cartridge design offers enhanced coupling, improving bass, dynamics, and compatibility with a broader range of tonearms. Its generator, akin to those in the Umami Blue and ML models, utilises an Alnico magnet and cross-coil design with high-purity 30-micron copper wire and an 8Ω impedance, improving signal-to-noise ratio and reducing moving mass. These enhancements boost resolution and traceability, optimising performance for a wider variety of phono stages.

The SL MK II includes a two-year guarantee from the date of purchase, along with a ‘new-for-old or damaged’ replacement service.
