The M1 is an outstanding DAC that offers generous connecting options, flawless build quality and exceptional technology. And when it comes to its sound quality, analogue sound association or not, it may just be as good as digital sound can get.

The Bricasti M1 is “understated” in the sense that Jackie Robinson made baseball look easy and Stevie Ray Vaughn made playing blues guitar look easy. They may have made it look easy, but you knew you were in the presence of greatness. That’s the Bricasti M1.

All things considered, the Bricasti M1 is a worthy successor to the Mark Levinson No.30.6 as New England’s stakeholder in state-of-the-art D/A processors. Enthusiastically recommended.

Vocals are handled exceptionally well thanks to its communication skills, our ears are attuned to the human voice and we are very sensitive to changes here, so when you get a genuinely transparent, uncoloured converter like this, voices are revealed in their full glory.

The investment required for the acquisition of these two electronics is not trivial. But their development is also unusual, both in the topology of the circuits and in the choice of components that are as expensive as they are effective, which contribute to the excellent final listening results.

So yeah, the Bricasti M12 Platinum Edition is nutty expensive. But… If you’ve got that kind of long green, it’s about as state-of-the-art as digital conversion gets these days. You also get a killer great-sounding preamp as part of the deal.

While pricy in the big picture, the Bricasti M20 stereo preamp represents a value in high-end audio that I would compare in performance to stereo preamps at literally any high-end price point.

(The M15) just sounds right. And Grammy-winning record producers and recording engineers definitely agree with that. Highly recommended for in-home audition.
