Hybrid Circuit Design
The hybrid circuit design combines ultra-low-noise IC op-amps for precision with discrete solid-state circuits that deliver lifelike dynamics and drive. PCB Layout and Noise Isolation

Power Supply
The Moonriver 505 Hybrid Phono Stage is powered by six independent power supplies, including a substantial 70,000µF total capacitance. Designed in a dual-mono configuration, each stage features its own dedicated power supply, incorporating linear discrete regulators and discrete noise rejection circuits for optimal performance and reduced interference.
Active Gain Stage
With ultra-low-noise active gain stages, the Moonriver 505 achieves a maximum gain of 72dB (4,000x amplification) in MC mode. Separate input stages for MM and MC settings employ op-amps specifically chosen for each type, ensuring optimal signal integrity. Air-sealed, low-impedance relays handle all settings for precision and reliability. Additionally, a discrete, high-current output circuit delivers lifelike dynamics and natural sound reproduction.
Microcontroller Operation with Memory Function
A built-in microcontroller silently manages all functions and automatically stores individual settings for each of the four inputs. Switching inputs recalls the last-used settings, enabling seamless operation. Whether connecting 4 MC cartridges, 4 MM cartridges, or a mix of MM and MC, the 505 allows full flexibility with unique settings tailored to each input.
De-Emphasis EQ
The Moonriver 505 features a passive de-emphasis circuit for an exceptionally flat frequency response with minimal signal interference. It includes two equalization curves: RIAA for standard playback and DECCA or COLUMBIA for 78rpm records. Both EQ circuits are engineered using a minimalistic approach, incorporating high-precision, audiophile-grade components for uncompromising accuracy and performance.
