It realises a long-held dream of creating a two-way floor-standing speaker in a solid wood cabinet, combining the purity of two-way design with the luxurious artistry that defines Sonus Faber.
True to tradition, the Maxima Amator is tuned “by ear,” ensuring a sound that is both technically precise and emotionally engaging. Its seamless integration of a 28mm DAD™ tweeter and 180mm cellulose pulp mid-woofer delivers a fluid, cohesive soundstage and embodies the "Voice of Sonus Faber." The IFF Crossover, a revolutionary network inspired by Paracross Topology™, ensures perfect driver fusion with components like wax-impregnated Litz coils, polypropylene capacitors, and anti-inductive resistors, resulting in a balanced and immersive listening experience.
The cabinet, crafted from solid walnut, is paired with either a Port Saint Laurent marble base for a classic aesthetic or a Black Marquina marble base for the modern graphite variant. Hand-applied leather on the front and rear panels, combined with subtle brass accents, enhances its timeless appeal. The Maxima Amator seamlessly blends luxurious materials and acoustic refinement, delivering an exceptional sound experience in a visually striking form.

Three-Chamber Structure: The cabinet is divided into three separate chambers.
The acoustic chamber was optimised with software simulations and damped using a cutting-edge three-layer material comprising recycled carbon and silica fibre.
The inert material chamber, lowers the system’s centre of gravity, increases stability, and minimises unwanted resonances.
The crossover chamber, is fully isolated to protect the delicate circuitry from vibrations.
Material Integrity: Advanced wood drying methods, structural ribs, flexible adhesives, and CNC precision ensure the cabinet’s durability over time, preserving its acoustic integrity as the wood naturally ages.
IFF Crossover – Interactive Fusion Filtering
At the heart of the Maxima Amator is the IFF Crossover, a revolutionary network design that ensures seamless driver integration. Re-imagining the principles of Paracross Topology™, the crossover uses non-traditional transfer functions for accelerated progressive slopes. The components have been meticulously selected to achieve optimal performance. Litz wire coils are impregnated in wax to eliminate vibrations, while polypropylene capacitors with thick aluminium metallisation and anti-inductive resistors contribute to the crossover's precision. The final tuning, guided by extensive listening tests, ensures perfect tonal balance for an immersive sound experience.
