Two distinct models to choose from
The T30 umbilical cable also links Shunyata's power conditioners but features 8-gauge VTX-Ag conductors, which include a pure silver core that enhances macro-dynamics and overall audio fidelity. Its proprietary Amphenol connection guarantees a secure and durable link between components, boosting system integrity. While priced affordably compared to the TT2, the T30 maintains exceptional performance, particularly suited for systems with high current demands.
The TT2 umbilical cable is specifically designed to connect Shunyata’s Typhon T2 power conditioner to other power distributors in an audio system, maximising overall system performance. This high-current cable uses 8-gauge VTX™ conductors, which deliver enhanced dynamic range, current transfer, and improved sound coherence. It is fitted with Shunyata’s military-grade Amphenol twist-lock connector, ensuring reliable, low-resistance connections for seamless power delivery.
CopperCONN: Many audiophile-grade connectors are made from brass or bronze. While some may get a plating of silver, gold or rhodium, most of the current is carried by the contact’s base metal. CopperCONN® connectors contain pure copper contacts with much higher conductivity than brass. The difference in performance is clearly audible.
VTX: Shunyata Research’s exclusive VTX™ conductors are made in the shape of virtual tubes. The core of the conductor is completely hollow minimizing skin effects and random eddy currents. They are produced using OFE Alloy-101.
ArNi® is a type of wire created by Shunyata Research designed to be the finest quality wire available for audio purposes. It begins with the highest purity of copper available – OFE C10100 or Ohno (single crystal). Then, it is formed in virtual hollow tubes, eliminating skin effects and eddy current distortions. Premium fluorocarbon insulation minimizes dielectric absorption and re-radiation, significantly improving resolution and clarity. In addition, the wire undergoes our proprietary KPIP™ process.
Fluorocarbon dielectrics are usually only found in wire used in the aerospace industry, satellites and only the most expensive audiophile cabling. It has special electrical characteristics; very low dielectric absorption, high dielectric strength and exceptional heat resistance. When used in audio and power cables is reduces the perception of dynamic compression and it improves sonic low-level resolution and clarity.
